What this extension is
Rosehill Class View lets a teacher see the active browser tab on each managed school Chromebook in their class, and only while the teacher has a live class session running. It is installed and configured by Rosehill College's Google administrator on school-managed devices.
What information it accesses
- The title and URL of the active browser tab on the student's Chromebook.
- The signed-in student's school email address, used only to match the student to the teacher's class for the session.
It does not take screenshots, record the screen, capture keystrokes, read other tabs or windows, or access anything outside the active tab.
When information is collected
Only while a teacher has an active class session that includes the signed-in student. At all other times the extension collects and sends nothing. Students see a red on-screen indicator whenever they are being viewed.
How it is used and shared
- The active-tab information is sent only to Rosehill College's own server so the teacher can see what their class is working on during the lesson.
- It is not sold, and not shared with any third party.
- It is not used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to classroom supervision.
Retention
Active-tab records are held only briefly to support the live view and are automatically deleted within 24 hours.
